Do You Have the Will to Win?
Pay the price for what you want. The will to win is not about noise or ego. Win or lose, what matters is that you gave it everything you had!
I remember playing sports in high school, and the desire to win was overwhelming for me. Once you taste what winning feels like, you do not want anything else. That inner drive has to stay lit, no matter how old we get. If you do not have the will to win, what is left? I call that living on autopilot. You just exist. Life goes by, and nobody even knows who you are. Remember, you were made to leave your mark.
Where the will to win started for me
In high school I played basketball and ran track. I ran relays and I did well. We won a lot of races in our region, and that marked me deeply. I tasted victory, and I hated it when we lost.
But one thing was certain: I was taught to lose well. If I lost, it was because I had given everything I had, and that meant there were no regrets. That lesson has pushed me my whole life to always go further. To take the next step. To pay the price for what I wanted. It did not matter whether I won or lost. What mattered was knowing I had given my best!
How do you wake up the will to win?
Wherever you are today, I challenge you to go after what you want. Wake up the will to win inside of you. If you want a promotion, pay the price it takes, prepare for the interview, and stand out! If you want to win a game in a team sport, motivate your teammates, get everyone aligned, and focus on the win. The truth is that the sky is the limit for you. In other words, there are no limits!
The will to win will always take you to new levels in life. So go out there and take it!
If you want a practical playbook for that drive, Winning the Game of Life was written for it. The rest of my titles are in the books catalog.
